Aldi Finds Review

I usually sleep on Aldi, mostly because they close at 8pm and I can never get there before then 😅 I am also not a huge fan of the no bags/pay for a cart shtick, but that's more of an annoyance rather than something that keeps me away from Aldi. Recently though, Aldi has been coming up in my feed to show me some pretty cool stuff and I was able to make it to my local Aldi before 8pm to get some of the neat finds! But are they really worth the trip? Let's find out!

Aldi Kirkton House Puzzle Storage Organizer

I do puzzles on and off, but something that always puts me off doing them is having the space and keeping the pieces together in between building sessions. This thing seemed like the perfect solution for those issues so I wanted to try it out!

First impressions were a little rocky, which is probably my fault since I forgot to grab a cart so I had to haul this thing to checkout (along with the other stuff) through a busy Friday Aldi crowd. It is heavy, learn from my mistakes and grab a cart!

The price is great, $30 is the price I would want to pay for it and very competitive considering all the others I looked at on Amazon were in the $50-$60 range.

It comes with interchangeable handles for the drawers, so you can either use the pre included rope loops or the knobs (which I went with). It's a nice little feature that was surprising plus for me.

It is advertised as able to fit 1000 piece puzzles. That's a tad unfortunate since I would have liked it to be a little bigger to accommodate 1500 piece puzzles, but it is not enough for me to have passed on it.

The wood is a little rough, literally. There are splintering pieces that, if you rub your skin against, would definitely be imbedded in you. I guess you get what you pay for 🤷🏻‍♀️

Overall, I like it and am finding it very handy! 👍

Large ALDI Bricks US Store

We are going to start this section off on a little bit of a jag, it matters and is pertantint to the review (mostly 😂). I HATE the current system that allows companies to hold onto a trademark forever. It stifles creativity and makes for fertile ground where monopolies can grow wild (*cough* Lego cough). So when these companies lose their trademark for whatever reason, it's a win for everyone and these bricks are a beautiful example of that! Who doesn't love a mini version of something? This Aldi brick store is super cute! I bought two so I could make the whole store rather than just have a front facing facade then a gaping hole as the back. I'm a little annoyed that I had to buy two in order to technically make a full store, but they were about $20 so it's hard to make a stink when the price is so reasonable. Bricks were great and snapped together nice, overall would recommend!

ALDI PLAY Large ALDI Bricks-ALDI Logo

This one is a harder sell. I got it as a comparison so I could really evaluate the bricks by themselves and not be dazzled by the cuteness of the little Aldi store. Would I buy this set again? No. It's a logo, which somehow feels more icky to make then the Aldi store and not something I would display. But it did highlight how nice the bricks are for the cost so I where I would definitely recommend the Aldi store set, this one is a definite pass unless you want the bricks for some other project 🤷🏻‍♀️

All in all, I'm impressed with Aldi! Neat stuff at a reasonable price 👍 Now if they would stay open later, I would be one happy camper 🤠
