Displate Review

I have always been curious about Displate. It takes what's great about a poster, having an image you can temporarily put on your wall, while fixing the issues that come with having a poster, namely that it's impossible to not damage it when hanging it up (I mean I guess you can get fancy and put it into a frame, but who has the money or time for that?). Plus all the YouTubers were hawking it a few years ago, so it made me curious if they are worth it. So I ordered some to see!

I bought two, one custom and one of their pre-made pictures. First off, it seems as though there is always a deal going on that's between 20-25% off. I was pleased with the price. Was it more expensive than a paper poster? Duh. But I honestly think the money is worth it, especially considering the discounts they are always rotating.

The packaging was superb, which is something I was worried about. I had hoped they wouldn't send these metal plates in a plastic bag or a flimsy cardboard envelope because I can only image what USPS would do with this thing in those instances. But they put both plates in my order in one big, flat box with a lot of padding and even plastic around each plate. A++ for packaging! Shipping was also pretty quick considering that I ordered a custom plate that had to be printed.

These plates are fantastic! The image is so cool printed on a metal poster. I picked a very high resolution picture for my custom one and it turned out great! The designer on the website was easy to use and they approved my image instantly. I picked the matte, large option. I freaking love it!! It is such a cool idea that doesn't really convey the depth of how much better it is than a traditional poster.

The pre-made image turned out just as good! I really like the textured aspect that I picked for my plate (textra it's called), it definitely added a level of dimension I wasn't sure would even look okay but I'm glad I took the risk and that displate offered such an interesting option. Now it is more expensive for the textra unfortunately but I do believe it is worth it! My only downside with this one is that they only offered one size and I think that this image could be better bigger. Could you make a custom one with a similar image and make it bigger? Sure. But then you couldn't have the textra so 🤷🏻‍♀️

I didn't have to deal with customer service so I can't say anything to that aspect but I would say it's a mark in the positive for Displate that I didn't have to talk with customer service since everything went well!

Overall I would highly recommend Displate for anyone on the fence.
