Frost Buddy 32oz Water Bottle

Along with my never ending quest to find the perfect fidget, I am also on a never ending quest to find my one true water bottle!

I have found that my perfect water bottle must have a few qualifications:

 -must be stainless steel (plastic doesn't keep ice cold enough for any period of time)

 -must have a handle of some sort (it is my companion water bottle so I need to carry it with me)

 -must be PRETTY (I'm vain...)

-I prefer something with a straw (it helps me drink more water)

 -dishwasher safe is a HUGE plus, but not a necessity

So I was eye balling the Frost Buddy 32 oz water bottle for a little while and was very tempted after they released the mermaid color, but I waited. I have a ton of water bottles in my cabinet so I could wait right? Well it went on sale for Black Friday/Cyber Monday...What can I say peeps? I am weak 😵‍💫 So I bought it at 15% off on Amazon and here are my thoughts!

Style

First off, I LOVE the color! It is a blue/green/purple chunky glitter pattern on a black background. I find that most black and glitter items tend to have the more yellow/red colors highlighted so I'm glad that this water bottle isn't that. I was also hesitant considering the images online made it look sorta pink. Nope, don't let the pictures turn you off. The blue/green/purple is really pretty 😍 Plus, if the mermaid style isn't your flavor no worries because Frost Buddy has TONS of colors both on Amazon and on their site.

Bottle Body

The shape is...kind of funky. I like a uniform bottle so this bottle is not my favorite, but that's just a preference. The site stays "Unlike bulky bottles, this portable water bottle fits in most standard car cup holders." The base is too big to fit in my Toyota Corolla cup holder, which is contradictory to what the website is claiming and is especially unfortunate considering my car is pretty standard. That's a point off for sure 😑

The body of the bottle has the words "Frost Buddy" inscribed on the bottom near the base, which is to be expected as most water bottle companies do this (to advertise I assume), but it's out of the way and not super noticeable. On the other hand, there is a sun inscribed right under the bend point near the top of the bottle. Not a fan, it seems unnecessary and would potentially be an issue if you wanted to put a sticker there.

This bottle has a wide mouth, making it convenient for adding ice cubes of different sizes. However, the lid's threads are on the inside, which I consider a design flaw since it allows liquid to spill over them. Plus it is a pain to get the lid off, very annoying.

Lid

Overall, I appreciate the lid. It features both a 'chug' side and a 'sip' side, allowing you to choose how you drink without needing to purchase or carry two separate lids. The 'chug' side has a relatively large opening with a plastic cover over the mouthpiece and includes a rubber gasket that effectively seals the opening, making it leak-proof from my experience. I like the design of this side for multiple reasons. Although I might not use it often, the encased design keeps it clean and sealed.

I primarily use the 'sip' side because I tend to drink more water with a straw. However, the straw is quite flat and elongated horizontally, which I'm not fond of. While this isn't a deal-breaker for using the bottle, I would much prefer a circular straw for a better seal. Despite this, the bottle doesn't leak, and the handle is long enough to avoid having to lower the straw if you accidentally leave it on the wrong side after setting it down.

Handle is long and supposedly removable, both of which are good things overall. I say 'supposedly' because I haven't figured out how to get the handle off, but I probably never will need that function so I'm not going to stress about it and potentially break it😬

Frosty?

The Frost Buddy advertises "Keeps Drinks Ice-Cold for 24+ Hours". I can't say anything for sure because I keep forgetting to set a timer when I add ice. I think 24+ hours might be a stretch, but every time I go to refill my drink (which can be anywhere from an hour to 18 hours) there is ice in there so definitely no complaints here.

Final verdict...

All in all, I would recommend the Frost Buddy to anyone looking for a daily water bottle and I especially recommend the Mermaid color 🧜‍♀️ The bottle is very nice and the pros defiantly outweigh the cons.
