EDIT: It's come to my attention that the product page is back up. I'm going to leave my review below unchanged, but I am aware that the jacket is back in stock.
This review is starting off on a sour note. A little behind the scenes info for clarity, when I go to make these reviews I usually will look up the product page to grab some details that the site might have so I can share them with you. Well when I went to do this with the Victoria's Secret VSX Elevate Diamanté Flex Contours Full-Zip Jacket I found something a bit frustrating...the product WAS WIPED OFF THE FACE OF THE PLANET! General search on the website, nothing.
Copying the exact wording for the my email receipt, nothing.
Different browser, nothing.
If I didn't have the object in my hand and a receipt (plus a few pictures that led to dead links) I would think this jacket was a figment of my imagination!!! I know what you're probably thinking 'Tori, this is a lot of emotion about something that doesn't really matter.' Well, dear reader, IT DOES MATTER. When companies do this crap it grinds my gears because there is literally no harm in leaving the product page up for later reference.
You bought the jacket a year ago and want to look for the washing information, but the tag is worn out? You're screwed.
You really love the jacket and don't have the receipt, but want to buy a copy of the jacket on the secondhand market? You're screwed.
You want to write a review to show people something they might consider buying? I'm screwed! So shame on you Victoria's Secret, I am not pleased.
Anyway...on to the jacket 😮💨

I saw the jacket in store after going to Victoria's Secret for a whole other reason and had to have it. I love shiny stuff (I'm a magpie of a person) so the black sparkly gems down the shoulders really caught my eye. Then I saw the price tag and cried a little...$129. That is a lot of money for a piece of clothing, not to mention a lightweight jacket where I live is probably going to get used max five times a year. But there was a coupon online so I talked myself into it.
The Fit

I like my jackets baggy so I ordered the two largest sizes, an XL and a XXL. I prefer the XXL because it is roomier in the shoulders, which is nice for me due to my broad shoulder. The trade off is that the stomach area is a little baggier (thus a little unflattering). The size difference wasn't really noticeable and honestly the jackets are pretty small for an XL and a XXL. If you love really baggy hoodies with lots of room, this is not the jacket for you. I'm assuming the tightness of the jacket is supposed to be a feature since it was classified under 'active wear', but overall definitely not comfy lounge hoodie.
Also it is short. This is a thing with shirts and jackets in the current fashion that I hate. Luckily the whole cropped everything is going out of style, but we have yet to round the corner back to the long style of tops that I believe is much more flattering for women. Victoria's Secret is a large offender of the short tops, which extends to their jackets so it shouldn't be a surprise but it is an annoyance.
Another gripe I have is the thumb holes. I'm generally not a fan of thumb holes, but the ones on this jacket are placed weird so I really don't like them. If you put your thumbs in the holes, the arms of the jacket twist as though they weren't placed where the thumbs naturally rest. Definitely a negative point for it.
As a jacket, it's lightweight and gets the job done of keeping a little bit of warmth in. It is very pretty, the black gems reflect lights and colors in a cool way. I also really like the mesh cut outs around the shoulders so the jacket earns points there. Another score in the positive direction are the pockets. There are four pockets, two internal and two external. The two internal ones are mesh and the external ones have a zipper closure that feels sturdy. I appreciate the amount of pockets as well as the details shown in their design. Those are the major highlights.
If Victoria's Secret decides to put this jacket back up on their site, then I would recommend it if you are looking for a pretty, lightweight jacket for being out and about. And if you find it, please comment the link down below so I can add it here.
